aBEA discussion today: Ask the Experts

So today is the last day of aBEA, and I am very sad to see it go. I have made some great new blogging friends and really appreciate all of the people that have visited my blog this week.

Today I am supposed to ask the blogger veterans questions, so here they are:

  1. What makes you follow a blog? What keeps you coming back?
  2. What types of giveaways do you like to see and enter?
  3. What are your favorite things to see on a blog?
  4. Any suggestions or tips for my blog are welcome!
Feel free to link me back to your tips or questions

I want to thank everyone again for popping over to my blog, I hope we continue to chat :)

  1. Hey there! For me it is finding blogs that read similar types of books. I don't follow blogs that I don't have anything in common with.

  2. I follow blogs when I see that the blogger reads similar books from me, or if they have a really interesting features.

For your blog, I'd suggest taking out one of the side bars as it looks a little busy - but not half as busy as some blogs, it's just a minor thing.

  3. I like blogs where the reader has similar taste to me, and they can write in a clear, easy-to-follow and somewhat professional sounding style. I like blogs to have personality, but still be focused. And for giveaways, I like giveaways of titles I'm interested in (paper copies - I rarely enter giveaways for ebooks) and for gift certificates to Amazon or Book Depository.

Thanks for stopping by my Armchair BEA Ask the Experts post.

  4. I too look for blogs with similar (though not necessarily exactly the same)books as what I read.

As far as the look of your blog, I'd either go with a plain or very subdued pattern or simplify the sidebars; your whole effect now, to me, is busy, but that's a personal taste thing, and I think that by looking at the books we review, you'll note that our personal tastes are somewhat differnt.
